Melanie Doane, Interview, Podcast, Keith Tomasek An accomplished singer, songwriter, musician, and performer Melanie Doane has appeared on Broadway and stages across North America.

Melanie Doane has released seven albums & written and performed many chart topping singles (“Adam’s Rib”, “Goliath”, “Still Desire You”, etc.).

Her music has been featured on hit television shows such as Brothers and Sisters, Being Erica, Flashpoint, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

As well as performing, Melanie uses the ukulele to introduce young children to musicianship. She’s following in the footsteps of her father, J.Chalmers Doane, a celebrated music education legend.

Doane’s relationship to music is intertwined with her sense of community. Her parents love of, and respect for, music and it’s place in the family home, has infused Melanie with a truly collaborative spirit.

Louise Pitre: Actress

Louise Pitre is a musical theatre legend.

Louise has been nominated for a Tony Award and is the winner of four Dora Mavor Moore Awards. The Broad­way star appeared in the Chicago production of Theatre 20’s “Company,” directed by Gary Griffin.

Louise is best known for her role as Donna Sheri­dan in the ABBA-themed musi­cal “Mamma Mia!”, which earned her a Tony Award nom­i­na­tion. She received rave reviews for her performances as Fantine in “Les Misérables” (Toronto, Montreal and Paris) and as the title character in “Edith Piaf.”

Louise talks about growing up as the daughter of an accountant, the high school music teacher that changed her life, being discovered by Don Fleckser at Western Univeristy Canada and what it’s like auditioning for the world-renowned director Gary Griffin.

Louise offers some advice for young actors.

She also discusses writing, producing and starring in her new show “On The Rocks” at Theatre Passe Muraille.

At the time of recording Lee Siegel was performing at The Stratford Festival, North America’s largest Classical repertory theatre.

Lee joined me for a candid chat about how he went from high school drama classes to Broadway.

We also discuss the inspiration behind his CD “Where is the Orchestra?” and the creative way he raised money to produce it.
